About Us

Located in the village of Lytchett Matravers, near Poole, Castle Farm was part of the Great Farm which was divided into smaller units at the time of the Enclosures Act. The oldest part of the farmhouse dates from the 18th century and the farm was in continual agricultural use until the 1980s. The Retirement Home is on the edge of the village, with access to the local GP surgery, library, village store and post office. Residents enjoy the peace, tranquility and beauty of the unspoilt Dorset countryside whilst also benefitting from the fresh, clean country air.

With an outstanding reputation for care in the local community, Castle Farm Retirement Home is run by the Manager Neil Hardy, as well as a team of dedicated staff with a number of relevant health care qualifications. The care home has also achieved their Gold Standards Framework accreditation (GSF). A framework for implementing improved coordination and better organisation to deliver better outcomes in line with their needs and preferences for people nearing end of life care. The care home achieved ‘Beacon Status’, the highest level of accreditation for their outstanding submission.
